Gravestones and winter blues
Forgive me for not updating more frequently, but February was simply mind-numbingly crazy. I haven't had much time to get out to photograph, and the weather hasn't helped. (Example: this morning started out as snow, which has now changed to sleet, and which is supposed to change to freezing rain.)
So, I've been going over images I took during the warm summer months, and came upon these photos of gravestones at Wards Chapel cemetery in Baltimore County (Maryland). There are many old cemeteries, but Wards is special, as you can trace whole family histories by the markers, some that are over a century old. The inscriptions are prosaic and sometimes all too sad, made even more poignant by the weathering of the marble.
I hope you enjoy these. Post your comments and thoughts. They are appreciated.
