Bracket Fungi

Bracket Fungi 1, color

Bracket Fungi

I was recently hiking around Liberty Reservoir, and happen to look down to find this dead branch and wonderful bracket fungi (mushrooms). My best guess is that these are Violet Polypores (Trichaptum biforme), but as I say that’s only a guess. I like the brown-purple coloration; its very rich and luxurious, and very appealing to the eye.

As you might imagine, this photo was taken in my studio. It’s an HDR composite to help bring our details and colors in the shadow areas.

Thanks for stopping by,

Bob
