Turtle Shell Textures

I suspect that many followers of this blog know that I like texture and how light interacts with surfaces. So, you can imagine my delight when I came across this bleached carapace that was once the shell of a Box Turtle. I had thought to clean it up, but decided that the shell was just right the way I found it.

Lighting was from a single, small LED flash light, with four exposures merged to produce the final image.

The textures, ridges, furrows, and cracks tell a story, and I hope my photograph has captured it for your eyes.

Best wishes,

Bob
