Celestial Ferns

Celestial Ferns 1, duocolor

Celestial Ferns

Among the perennial plants in my garden, the Japanese Painted Ferns (Athyrium niponicum) are at the top of the list for beauty. Their shape and colors are very pleasing and a bit of the exotic to the more common black-eyed susans and coneflowers.

I was wandering around, when I noticed how the light was reflecting off of the fern fronds, giving a feeling of fireworks or comet tails. Adding to that were the white Crepe Myrtle flowers that give the sense of stars shining in the background. And, that’s how this photo was born.

I hope you like it ,
