Agastache No.1

Agastache No.1

An aging Agastache flower stalk. These plants are known as hummingbird mints or hyssop, and wonderful attractors of all sorts of pollenators. They’re a showy, fragrant, long-blooming perennial, several cultivars of which grow luxuriously in my gardens.

With regard to this photograph, I find rhythm and harmony in the spacing of the flowers on their stalks, and wanted to capture some of that sense in a B/W photograph.
