The Flames of Fall

Autumn’s Glow, color

The Flames of Fall

I confess I wait for fall foliage for most of September and October, when the colors peak around the middle to the latter part of October. I sort of got robbed this year, as 2020 brought very warm weather to our area, which threw the trees into a spin. Many didn’t produce much color, instead going from green to yellow-brown in a few days, only to then drop to ground. Of course, a the remnants of 2 or 3 hurricanes which pounded the area with rain and wind didn’t help much either.

Luckily, not all fell victim to the weather, as can be seen in the leaves of a burning bush, Euonymus alatus, that simply glowed in the warm late afternoon sunlight. (Replete with late autumn fungi, but who’s looking, right?)

I hope your autumn has been swell. Stay happy and healthy my friends.
