Daylily Daze

Daylily Daze

Summer is here, and the daylilies are a’bloomin’. The varieties in my gardens are rather small in height, and their flowers have to fight to get through the thickets of Liropes growing around them. Their flowers nevertheless prevail, if only to show off for a day or two before withering away. While I appreciate their colors (mine are mostly yellowish), I marvel at the textures in the petals of these beauties.

Note the rag-paper-like quality in their petals. Just lovely.
