Pastoral Mech

Over the past week, I transferred nearly 9,000 photographs that I had stored on CD roms to my workstation SSD harddrives. In doing this, I rediscovered dozens of images that I had never seriously edited and displayed, or just forgot about. And, here’s one of them.

A fallow field, fleecy clouds, blue sky, an idyllic early autumn scene from the countryside. But wait, what is that in the middle of the field? It looks like an innocent piece of farm machinery, but there’s something about it that has a somewhat ominous character, as it sits in isolation (perhaps waiting for its next prey). I don’t know, but that piece of mech could easily find its way into any number of scifi or mecha novels. What are your thoughts? Is it the next Transformer?
