Ferns at dusk

I was hiking around Soldier’s Delight in the late afternoon a few days ago, and happened upon a small grove of ferns in various states of decline now that autumn is fully upon us. The lighting gave the still living fronds an eerie, ghost-like quality that was very evocative.
